Application Requirements

Master's Degrees

Minimum Required Documents for Master's Degrees
  • A completed  (No fee is required.)
  • Official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions (Unofficial transcripts can be used for the admissions review.)
  • Portfolio or audition for Architecture, Music, Drama and Art
Recommended Documents for Master’s Degrees
  • Copy of resume
  • One letter of recommendation
  • A professional goal statement

*Some master’s programs may require a fee and additional documents.

Doctoral Programs

Minimum Required Documents for PhD
  • A completed along with the $60 application fee.
  • Official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions (Unofficial transcripts can be used for the admissions review.)
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • A statement of purpose
  • Results of the Graduate Record Examination are required. University accepts applications on a rolling basis. 

IMPORTANT NOTE: Application requirements and deadlines vary by the individual graduate program. Call the department or search / consult the individual programs for full details.

Submitting Official Transcripts and Test Scores

Official transcripts must be submitted for full admittance to the University.  Your official copies should be sent from the institution to em-operations@cua.edu.

GRE or other test scores must be sent directly to Catholic University from the testing service. Do not attach to the online application.

Catholic University's test code for the GRE is 5104.
